Description:
The Valve Control Unit, 4 Zone (VCU-4Z) is a wireless irrigation receiver. It is used in conjunction with a Gulf ICI or RICO transmitter to provide a complete wireless switching system for irrigation valve control. The VCU receives instructions from the transmitter and activates up to 4 D.C. latching solenoids. The VCU-4Z is fully IP68 compliant i.e. the unit is completely sealed against ingress of water and dust, so can be placed inside a valve box without fear of damage due to flooding.

- Highly sensitive micro-controlled receiver with built-in error correction.
- Solenoid switching time < 1 second from receipt of signal.
- Valve Test Mode – Valves can be operated from the VCU itself without the need to operate the transmitter.
- Auto Learn Mode – The VCU learns the unique ID of the transmitter without having to set any DIP switches.
- Range Test Feature – Each time the transmitter sends a Range Test command the VCU responds by flashing an LED indicator.
- No external programming/test equipment required.
- Pump/Utility Control – Control pumps and other utilities by connecting external latching relays to the VCU outputs in place of solenoids.
- Field-configurable as a Master Valve controller.
- Automatic shutoff period of 9 minutes to avoid over-watering in unlikely event of signal failure.
- Battery operating life > 1 year under typical usage conditions.(1)
- LED indications for Battery Low, Valve Test Mode, Learn Mode, Valve Status and Range Test.
