Gulf 600

Description:

The Gulf 600 field unit is a modular system constructed of primarily two electronic   housing and system heads involved. The main housing referred to as the Field   Processor Unit or FPU and contains the user keypad, the display, the mother board, the non volatile memory, the backup or supply battery and the power supply or regulator board. This housing is linked to a second housing which is referred to as the required the lightning protection with field wire connectors(only in AC system). GSM10

Description:

The GSM 10 monitors alarms and sensors and will send you a sms and call you on your cellphone when an event is triggered.

Main Features:

Simply send a sms or call the GSM to switch anything on and off. The device can also be used to switch lights, motors and geysers on and off as well as opening a garage door or security gate with your cellphone.

The GSM 10 is a wire-less stand-alone telemetry device that is used for remote maintenance and control using the cellphone networks as a communications infrastructure.

It has a single output which can be switched on and off by sending the device a sms or voice-call from your cellphone.  The device also incorporates a single digital input that is programmed to send a notification sms directly to your cellphone or another GSM when an external sensor or switch triggers it.

It uses a standard MTN or Vodacom pre-paid or contract sim card.

GSMio Communicator

Description::

The gulf GSMio is a self-contained GSM communicator, designed to link electronic and electrical items to a cellphone or computer via the GSM network. In other words it can be used to send information to a cellphone or receive instructions from a cellphone.

Main Features::

Instructions can be used to control lights, alarms, machines, vehicles, systems and equipment. The information received is relevant to these examples condition or status. (eg. “The alarm is on”)  The unit is a complete product, which includes the power supply circuit, a processor and non-volatile memory, a cell-phone engine, output relays and status indication LEDs. The product needs no external components to operate and requires only a DC supply voltage of between 10 and 20V.

Dositec Chemical Pump

Description:

Electromagnetic diaphragm dosing pump with low injection flows.

Main Features:

The Dositec Chemical Pump are heavy duty, high precision dosing pumps for chemical products, consisting of a single diaphragm and cylinder supplying a low delivery rate. The pumps are available with various build in controller options.

The Dositec dosing pump are manufactured with materials that can resist most chemical products, even acids. They are designed for all sorts of processes where it is necessary to dose a product into a hydraulic system: Industrial + chemical applications, water treatment and agriculture.

The maximum injection flow available is 9l/h at a pressure of 10bar.

The pump is supplied standard with installation accessories: Suction Filter, Suction + Delivery Hoses and Anti – Siphon Injection Valve. Accessories available to complete pump installation include: Pressure Relief Valve.

Electrofertic 2000 Metering Pump

Description:

Electric single or double piston dosing pump with fixed pump delivery rate.

Main Features:

The Electrofertic 2000 Metering Pump are extra heavy duty, high precision dosing pumps for chemical products, consisting of a single or double piston and cylinder supplying a high delivery rate.
Injection flow is generated by a piston and cylinder system through suction and delivery valves fitted to the cylinder. The injection flow rate is not mechanically adjustable as for Multifertic and Dostec pump models. The Electrofertic pump can be used with controller and inverter (see Injector Pump Automation) to change the pump electric motor speed which will change the pump injection flow rate.
The injection flows available are 500 and 1000l/h with pressures ranging from 3 to 12bar.

Multifertic Metering Modules

Description:

Additional injection metering module for fitting to Multifertic Metering Pump, each module dosing rate independently adjustable through regulation of the module positive return system.

Main Features:

The Multifertic Metering Modules are fitted to and driven from the Multifertic Metering Pump driving module, 1 - 3 injection modules can be fitted to a driving module giving a maximum total of 4 independent injection modules.

Injection flow is generated by a piston and cylinder system through suction and delivery valves fitted to the cylinder. The piston movement and flow regulation is controlled by a high accuracy positive return mechanism exclusive to this pump make and model.

Independent injection modules can be utilized for different apportioned chemical products or to increase the injection flow. With multiple injection modules setup for the increase of injection flow a higher flow regularity is obtained, by utilizing 4x modules in this configuration a continuous flow is obtained.

The injection module flows available are 50, 100, 200 and 300l/h (for pump series MF2) with pressures ranging from 3 to 15bar (for multiple modules please confirm maximum allowable pressure with Agriplas). The injection module flows are adjustable to 0% (no flow from module) or in range 10 - 100% of maximum module capacity.

Anti-Siphon Injection Valve

Description:

Injection valve with non - return and anti-siphon functions.

Main Features:

The Anti-Siphon Injection Valve must be used with every injection pump to protect it against back pressure from the hydraulic system that chemicals is injected into. This valve also features an anti - siphon function that will eliminate the possibility of the chemical injection system draining into the hydraulic system when it is shut down.

The anti - siphon spring installed in the valve can be removed to lower the frictional losses caused by the valve. When the spring is removed the valve will obviously loose the anti - siphon protection function.

There are two valve sizes available three quarter inch - for flows up to 300l/h and one and quarter inch - for flows from 500l/h.

Fittings for Farm suspended overhead irrigation systems:

A new approach to over-head permanent irrigation systems combining existing with new technology

Main Features::

The system consists of tried and tested impact sprinklers that have been successfully implemented and utilized internationally for years.  The difference however is that the sprinklers are no longer standing on the ground but mounted above ground at a height of 3.5 to 5.5 meters.  The result is the creation of a steady rainfall environment during irrigation because of the utilization of a block concept.

The system is compiled by using the Agriplas RC160 FARM impact sprinkler placed at intervals of 14m x 14m, supported by a pole and cable structure and spaced within a block layout of 70m x 14m.  The result is 51 sprinklers per hectare with only 10 poles per hectare.

Gulf Irrigation Control Interface (ICI)

Decription:

The Gulf Irrigation Control Interface (ICI) is an addition to a standard irrigation controller. The device offers wireless control of up to 12 zones plus an additional pump start unit. The ICI’s inputs are simply connected to the outputs of the irrigation controller. The ICI monitors the signal levels and uses radio signaling to communicate changes to Gulf Valve Control Units (VCUs) in the field. The VCUs then open or close the appropriate solenoid valve according to the signal received.

Main Features:

  • Wireless control of up to 12 zones plus a remote Pump Control Unit (PCU).
  • For control of 12-24 zones two ICIs can be com bined together.
  • Digitally encoded signal with multiple burst transmission is used to ensure signal integrity.
  • Unique Factory Encoding - Each ICI is uniquely encoded at the factory to ensure that only the required VCUs and PCU are activated i.e. prevents interaction with neighbouring systems.
  • Learn Mode - Utilises a very simple technique to “marry” together the ICI and VCUs without any setting of switches. Allows easy replacement of a VCU should the need arise.
  • Range Test Mode - The ICI can be easily placed into Range Test mode allowing the installer to test reception on the Valve Control Unit (VCU) in the field.
  • Simple LED indications are given indicating the current status of the system.
  • Irrigation Scheduling is set on the 3rd-party irrigation controller - the ICI simply acts as a transparent wireless link.
  • Signal Range can be extended with the use of a Gulf Repeater unit

Gulf Pump Control Unit (PCU)

Description:

The Gulf Pump Control Unit (PCU) is a wireless receiver capable of switching a high current output, typically used to activate a contact breaker circuit to start or stop a pump. It is used in conjunction with a Gulf ICI or RICO transmitter to provide a complete wireless switching system for irrigation valve control. It can also be used with up to 5 Gulf Tank Level Controllers (TLC) to allow remote automatic level control for water tanks or dams.  The PCU receives instructions from the transmitter and activates an internal solid state relay switch in order to control the external equipment. The PCU can also be manually controlled by pressing the On/Off button on the keypad. The PCU has a standard BNC antenna connector to which a rubber-duck antenna is fitted as standard. For longer range applications this may be replaced with an external dipole or directional antenna.

Main Features:

  • Internal solid state relay capable of switching 2 Amps maximum through to the external equipment e.g. 3-phase contact breaker.
  • Manual Switching - The pump can be operated from the PCU itself without the need to operate the transmitter.
  • Highly sensitive micro-controlled receiver with built-in error correction.
  • Built-in surge protection provides protection against transient voltage spikes on the power supply.
  • Auto Learn Mode - The PCU learns the unique ID of the transmitter without having to set any DIP switches.
  • Range Test Feature - Each time the transmitter sends a Range Test command the PCU responds by flashing a the Range Test LED indicator.
  • Automatic shutoff period of 9 minutes as safety feature unlikely event of signal failure.
  • LED indications for Learn Mode, Output Status and Range Test.
  • High Pressure Input - can be used for system shutdown if high pressure situation develops.

Gulf Tank Level Controller (TLC)

Description:

The Gulf Tank Level Controller (TLC) uses sensor inputs to monitor the level in a water tank or dam. When the water level changes the TLC sends a radio control signal to the Pump Control Unit (PCU) to switch the pump on or off.  The TLC is normally powered by long-life lithium batteries but can optionally be supplied from an external 12V DC or 24V AC supply if available. The unit can be used either with a float switch or with up to 4 different level probes. When operated with multiple probes the TLC is capable of switching a total of 4 pumps - one pump per level probe. The TLC has a standard BNC antenna connector to which a rubber-duck antenna is fitted as standard. For longer range applications this may be replaced with an external dipole or directional antenna.

Main Features:

VCU-4Z

Description:

The Valve Control Unit, 4 Zone (VCU-4Z) is a wireless irrigation receiver. It is used in conjunction with a Gulf ICI or RICO transmitter to provide a complete wireless switching system for irrigation valve control. The VCU receives instructions from the transmitter and activates up to 4 D.C. latching solenoids. The VCU-4Z is fully IP68 compliant i.e. the unit is completely sealed against ingress of water and dust, so can be placed inside a valve box without fear of damage due to flooding.

Main Features:

  • IP68 compliant - fully sealed against water and dust ingress
  • Control up to 4 D.C. latching solenoids.
  • Highly sensitive micro-controlled receiver with built-in error correction.
  • Solenoid switching time < 1 second from receipt of signal.
  • Valve Test Mode – Valves can be operated from the VCU itself without the need to operate the transmitter.

A pressure differential switch senses the pressure differential and when it reaches a pre-set value, the cleaning process begins.

The Self-Cleaning Process:

Cleaning of the filter is carried out by the suction scanner (5) which spirals across the screen; the open exhaust valve creates a high velocity suction stream at the nozzles tip which “vacuums” the filter cake from the screen. During the self-cleaning process, which takes between 20 to 40 seconds, filtered water continues to flow downstream.

Scanaway and Brushaway are add-on assemblies built for upgrading Amiad’s steel and plastic filters to semi-automatic operation by adding simple turn-of-a-handle cleaning mechanism to the filter’s screen.  Upgrading a manual filter to semi-automatic operation eliminates the need for turning-off the water and extracting the filter screen for rinsing, with the semi-automatic assembly the process flow is not interrupted during operation.  Amiad’s semi-automatic assemblies are fitted with a Clogging Indicator for visually monitoring the status of the filter element without disrupting the water flow. A red button pops-up from the indicator when the differential pressure across the screen reaches 0.5 bar. Amiad’s semi-automatic assemblies are available for all Amiad manual filters from 2” to 14”.

How the Scanaway Assembly Works:

The Scanaway assembly consists of a suction-scanner, a hollow pipe with suction nozzles, that is facing the inner side of the screen.
Outside the filter a handle is connected to the “suction” scanner, allowing turning the scanner in a spiral movement so it rotates inside the screen surface without touching the screen mesh.
Opening the exhaust valve at the filter lid creates low pressure conditions in the suction scanner, which cause the scanner nozzles to suck-in the dirt particles from the screen surface and expel the dislodged particles out through the exhaust valve.  Scanning is done during the filtration process without having to stop the flow of process water through the filter.

How the Brushaway Assembly Works:

The Brushaway assembly consists of nylon brushes fitted on a frame and inserted into the filter screen.  A simple handle, outside the filter, allows brushing away particles from the inner screen surface and expel them out from the filter through the exhaust valve.Brushing is done during the filtering process without having to stop the flow of process water through the filter.

The Gulf Irrigation Controller (RICO) is a wireless irrigation controller, allowing control of either 16 or 48 zones. Screen Elements: (1)
The screen elements are constructed of molded plastic ribs that support a stainless steel weave-wire or weaved nylon mesh for filtration degrees of 80 to 300 micron. The direction of flow in the screen elements is from the inside out. Suspended solids accumulate on the inner side of the screen and the screen can be easily extracted from the filter housing for manual rinsing.The screen elements are designed for creating very low head loss, retention of organic substances and are especially suitable for separating inorganic particles. The screen cylinder incorporates two O-rings to ensure perfect sealing inside the filter housing

Disc Elements: (2)
The disc elements are made to provide high retention of organic substances and are constructed from plastic discs that are stacked onto a telescopic core. The discs are grooved on both sides and intersected to form the filtration element when compressed on the telescopic core. The direction of flow in these elements is from the Outside In along the element, therefore the effective filtration area is comprised of both the outside surface and the channels formed by the intersected grooves. Suspended organic particles adhere to the grooved surface adding depth to the filtration process. Cleaning the disc element is made simple by the unique design of the telescopic core which allows the discs to separate during the cleaning process while maintaining perfect sealing when the element is in the filter housing. The disc element incorporates two O-rings to ensure perfect sealing inside the filter housing.

LPD Leakage Prevention Device

Description:

The new Agriplas Sprinkler LEAKAGE PREVENTION DEVICE or LPD, as they are better known, is specifically designed to prevent water wastage and crop damage by preventing back flow from pipes and irrigation systems after shut-off, thereby contributing to a water saving of up to 10%.


Wetting Front Detector

Description:

A Wetting Front Detector (WFD) shows how deep water infiltrates into the soil after irrigation or rain.  It takes a soil water sample so that the movement of plant nutrients and salt through the soil can be monitored.  The FullStop WFD helps you “see” what is happening down in the root zone when you irrigate the soil.

How does it work:

The Wetting Front Detector (WFD) is no more than a funnel, a filter and a float that is buried in the ground at the depth that soil moisture needs to be monitored. Two instruments are used simultaneously,  one is placed in the root zone, and one just underneath the plant’s roots.

The positioning and depth of the product varies from Drip, Micro and Flood irrigation and must be installed according to the guidelines as given in the instruction manual.

When irrigating, the water moves downwards into the ground.  This movement is called the wetting front. The funnel will catch water that flows over it if the wetting front is strong enough (suction force of 3 kPa or less).  The water then moves down into the funnel, through the filter, and collects at the bottom, enabling the float to lift.  The float is visible above the ground, and indicates that the water has reached the WFD’s depth.

As easy as that - either there is water or there is not!

The present float must be reset after each irrigation cycle.  There will be other variations in the future that will automatically reset as the soil dries and will also monitor the floats movement, enabling automatic irrigation.

    The WFD can be used to :
  • Determine if too much or too little water has been applied
  • Assist with the management of fertilizer and salts by extracting and analysing the water that collects inside the WFD
  • Preventing leaching as the second WFD placed deeper than the root zone will indicate over-irrigation.

The simplicity of the product, coupled with the relatively cheap price tag means that irrigators who cannot afford scheduling equipment can establish how deep they have irrigated.
